Overflowing with Flowers!
We have so many annuals that it takes 3 of our hoop houses to hold them all! When you visit Harvey’s you will find a huge range of happy annuals in Houses 8, 10, and 14. Annuals are an affordable and fast way to liven up your garden beds and planters. Unlike perennials, most annuals will bloom all summer long so keep that in mind when you are planning out your landscape. If you enjoy getting down in the dirt and painting your yard with flowers than you are in the right place!
A Geranium by Any Other Name, Would Smell Just As Sweet
One of our annual sell-out stars is the geranium. In early spring her cloud like blooms float over nearly half of House 8. They come in a variety of colors, smell lovely, are easy to care for, and bloom all summer long, who wouldn’t want to take her home? We refer to this charming baby by her common name, “Geranium” but she is actually known as the Zonal Geranium or Pelargonium. This mix-up occurred long ago and mostly we agree to ignore it, because she stole our heart, so who really cares what she is called? She’ll be happy and beautiful almost anywhere you plant her.
In addition to this beauty we also have an extensive selection of Scented Geraniums. The most commonly known are Citronella, Citrosa, and Martha Washington. We offer many more varieties including Chocolate, Lemon, Cedar, and Rose. They should be treated as Annuals. perennial or Cranesbill Geraniums that may not be as showy as the zonal geraniums but they are edible! Whichever name or style you’re looking for, we have it here, at Harvey’s!
Coleus for a POP of Color!
Just one of the fun and colorful fellas you’ll find in the Sun Annuals House, Coleus comes in a variety of electric hues. This plant is happy is as a garden border accent or in a container arrangement! Consider planting more than one variety for a lush checkered blanket of leaves intermixed with coordinating flowering plants!
